ABOUT THE CELL

NSCET Green Environment Cell was inaugurated on 11th Feb 2015. Mr.S.IndraKumar, Senator, Exnora International (non-governmental environmental service organization), Chennai gave various ideas on how to make the wastes useful. He focused mainly on how to make organic fertilizers from the wastes available at our home. He also insisted the system of “Green Cap on the roof top”. Around 200 students and faculty from various departments felt useful

INAUGURATION

As a proactive institution concerned with the conservation of the environment, the Green Environment Cell was established in the College with the objective of generating awareness and promoting environmental care at both individual and community level. The Green Environment Cell aims to create a pervasive atmosphere facilitating conversation, action and feedback on environmental issues engaging faculty, students and the general public.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

  • Environmental policy refers to the commitment of an organization to the laws, regulations, and other policy mechanisms concerning environmental issues.
  • These issues generally include air and water pollution, waste management, ecosystem management, maintenance of biodiversity, the protection of natural resources, wildlife and endangered species.
  • Policies concerning energy or regulation of toxic substances including pesticides and many types of industrial waste are part of the topic of environmental policy.
  • This policy can be deliberately taken to direct and oversee human activities and thereby prevent harmful effects on the biophysical environment and natural resources, as well as to make sure that changes in the environment do not have harmful effects on humans.

MOTTO

Environment safety and make it green is the urgent need of today. We need to maintain its naturality more than the speed we have destroyed it. Misbalancing the natural cycle of the environment is leading towards the destruction of life from this planet. Therefore, it is very necessary to understand the importance of healthy environment and maintain it forever to continue the life. Slogans on environment are the best way to encourage people towards saving the environment.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To inculcate an awareness especially in relation to the care of their own health and that of others.
  2. To understand and acceptance of civic and human responsibilities.
  3. To cultivation and maintenance of a spirit of service and helpfulness to others.
  4. Promotion and protection of health and life.
  5. Selfless services to the sick and suffering.
  6. Promotion of national and international friendship.
  7. Disaster relief to the victims.
  8. To contribute to the improvement of health, the prevention of disease and maternity and child care in the community.
  9. To educate the population on how to prepare for and respond to disasters.
  10. To promote the Fundamental Principles of the Movement and the International Humanitarian Law in order to inculcate humanitarian ideals among the population, and in particular among children and youth.
  11. To serve the community within its jurisdiction, the state branch may initiate activities to address local needs and priorities as approved by the Managing Body of the branch.
